…Sylvie didn’t know how it happened. One minute words were coming out of her mouth that she wouldn’t normally say under torture. The next, her hand was in Kalen’s and they were leading each other to the elevator.
She knew why it had happened, though. Kalen was rebounding hard, and she was feeling charitable. And a bit horny. Man, the guy looked good in a suit. And moved like a jaguar. His moodiness taunted her, made her want to slap him out of it.
Or fuck him out of it.
Seemed like a good plan to her.
So eighty-six seconds after she said she wanted him at the wedding, they were alone in the elevator, going up. In more than one way.
As soon as the doors closed, Sylvie grabbed Kalen’s lapels and yanked him across the elevator. His body slammed against hers as she fell into the corner. His mouth landed on target, already plundering. He dug one hand into her hair, gripping the back of her skull, while the other swept up under her shirt.
The kiss was hot. Sylvie felt the welcome rush of heat inside her, as well as the first flush of desire. Her thoughts fuzzed, her senses focused on his taste and smell and texture. The rasp of his jaw, less clean-shaven than she’d ever seen him. The oaky taste of his whiskey. And, oh, God, the tightness of the muscles under her hands. Most of the men she had sex with were involved in the same type of work she was, in one way or another. Which meant they were in top condition, like Kalen. But as much as she liked a hard-bodied man, this one felt better to her than any other. She arched, pressing her body tighter to his. It didn’t help the tingling in her nipples or between her thighs…
